Yxa is a new SIP server project written in Erlang. For short, this enables multimedia, presence-aware, messages exchange. SIP is one of the protocol used for telephony over IP.

Yxa is a bunch of library like functions for receiving, processing and sending SIP messages, and a couple of small applications that can do various things.

Yxa is swedish for axe. AXE is a large (traditional) telephony switching system made by Ericsson.

Yxa is developed by Magnus Ahltorp and Fredrik Thulin.

Do not miss the quickstart guide to simply use Yxa with two SIP phones. This is a really fun project !
