Mark Scandariato gave interesting feedback regarding Erlang native performance (as compiled with HiPE)

In a word count example (like Unix wc), native compilation divided the execution time by 2. It was faster than the native wc version found on the RedHat system of Mark Scandariato.

That's nice to see that the Bagley shoutout benchmark was not representative of Erlang performance.
