Erlang is a concurrency oriented programming language. It has been created as a means to write robust applications, running on a set of networked computers Originally developed at Ericsson, the Erlang development environment is now available under a Free Software licence. This web site is run by the Erlang Projects non-profit association, whose main goal is to promote and help Erlang development and documentation projects. ejabberd is a Free and Open Source fault-tolerant distributed Jabber server. It is writen mostly in Erlang. An installer has been packaged to help the use of the Erlang Jabber server on the Windows platform. Alexey Shchepin has released the first stable version of Ejabberd, a distributed fault-tolerant Jabber server (...) Christophe Romain has packaged a version of the Erlang/OTP environment for Sharp Zaurus PDA computers. This demonstrates the extreme flexibility of the Erlang Virtual Machine and environment.
